The iBook is a laptop computer manufactured by Apple. The line targeting students and other individuals looking for a cost efficient laptop. The iBook boasted much lower prices than the Apple PowerBook, however it also had less features. The original iBook was named the Blueberry iBook and had the nickname of "Clamshell" due to it's unique and interesting design. The iBook was in production from 1999 to 2006. The MacBook replaced the iBook line in 2006. A second line of the iBook G3 was introduced in 2001, it went back to the traditional design (rectangular) and introduced a faster processor, bigger hard drive and more RAM.
